MGCCC soccer splits with Jones

Kelsi Weaver’s goal in the opening moments of overtime lifted the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Lady Bulldogs to a 2-1 win over Jones Wednesday Night in Perkinston.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-3, 4-1) got an early goal from Brianna Holmes in the first half before Jones tied it and sent the game to the extra frame.

The men’s squad (10-3, 4-1) was missing three key players and dropped a 1-0 decision to Jones.

Gulf Coast travels to take on archrival Pearl River Saturday, Oct. 8 in Poplarville.
