MGCCC Soccer at MACJC State Tournament

Dallas Mansfield and the MGCCC men take on Holmes at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Holmes earned the right to host the tournament when the men's team captured the North Division title Tuesday night with a 4-3 overtime win over the East Central Community College Warriors. The Bulldogs (11-2-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the North Division) edged out the Itawamba Community College Indians for the right to host the tournament.
Itawamba (10-6-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the North Division) will be the North No. 2 team in the tournament while the Pearl River Community College Wildcats (10-4-1 and 6-1-1 in the South Division) will be the South No. 1 and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs (13-4-1 and 6-2 in the South Division) will be the South No. 2. Itawamba will play Pearl River at 7 p.m. on Saturday night while the Holmes Bulldogs will play the Gulf Coast Bulldogs at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
On the women's side, the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs (8-5 and 5-3 in the North Division) also made the state tournament as the North No. 2 team while the Hinds Community College Lady Eagles (9-6-1 and 6-1-1 in the North Division) are the North Division No. 1 team. Holmes will play the Pearl River Community College Lady Wildcats (14-1 and 8-0 in the South Division) the South No. 1 team on Saturday at 4 p.m. while Hinds will play Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (13-4 overall and 6-2 in the South Division) the South No. 2 team at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The women's winner will play in the state title game on Sunday at noon while the men's winner will play at 3 p.m.
