PERKINSTON---The magical season for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College soccer came to an abrupt end as Tyler Junior College got wins over the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs Friday in the NJCAA Southern District Championship.

Tyler's men, ranked #3 in the NJCAA, blanked Gulf Coast 5-0. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs (15-5-1) won the MACJC and Region 23 titles in 2011.

Tyler's Lady Apaches, the Nation's top ranked squad, defeated the Lady Bulldogs 3-1. Taylor Walker netted the only goal for Gulf Coast with a header late in the second half. The Lady Bulldogs (16-5) also won MACJC and Region 23 titles this season.

It's the first time in college history that both teams won MACJC and Region 23 championships in the same season.
