Basketball splits at Itawamba

Angel Matias poured in 28 points as Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College notched a 76-67 road win at Itawamba improving the Bulldogs record to 2-1. Justin Childs had 18 points while Darius Forrest added 13.
The Lady Bulldogs (2-1) dropped their first game of the season in an 88-71 decision. Shamekia Hart led Gulf Coast with 18 points, Delainna Lyons had 14, and Ricille Davis and Tatyana Haywood added 10 apiece.
Gulf Coast will hold "meet the team" night at the Weathers/Wentzell Center before taking on Itawamba again Monday, Nov. 14 with games at 5 & 7 p.m.
