Busy stretch for MGCCC basketball

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is barnstorming though the early part of the 2011-12 season, including a recent stretch of six games in eight days.

The Bulldogs (4-2) began the week with a home win against Itawamba then defeated baton Rouge on the road 80-69 on Wednesday. Darius Forest led the way with 22 points while Angel Matias had 15 and Justin Childs added 15. Last Night the Bulldogs dropped a 60-50 decision on the road at Pensacola State with Childs leading the way with 10 points.
The Lady Bulldogs (3-2) are coming off a 63-61 win at Baton Rouge Wednesday thanks to a buzzer-beater by Jaliesa Hicks. Cara Beverin led Gulf Coast with 23 points while Shameika hart added 15.

Both squads are preparing for the annual Gulf Coast Classic Nov. 21-22 at the Weathers/Wentzell Center on the Perkinston Campus. The schedule for the two-day event is as follows:
