Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College opened 2011-12 MACJC South Division action with wins at East Central Thursday at two more victories against Hinds at home Monday Night.

The Bulldogs hammered the Warriors Dec. 1 99-61 behind 19 points from Ice Asortse and 14 from Angel Matias. Darius Forrest and Giancarlo Santiago each had 10 in the victory.

Monday Night the Bulldogs (9-2, 2-0) took care of Hinds 96-82 as Matias led the way with 22 points. Forest had 21, Asortse added 19, Jeffery Simmons chipped in with 16, and Jeremiah Dunnings had 11.

Against Hinds, The Lady Bulldogs (6-4, 2-0) won 74-67 and were paced by 19 points from Ricille Davis and 17 from Delainnia Lyons.

The Lady Bulldogs got a 73-70 victory over East Central thanks to an 18 point, 7 rebound outing from freshman Presley Owens and 16 points from Davis. Cara Beverin added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the win.

Gulf Coast will host Bishop State Dec. 6 before the Christmas Break.
