Bulldogs rip East Central for 12th straight victory

Ricille Davis (2) had 17 points against East Central Feb. 2.
The Bulldogs (16-2, 7-0) got 16 points from Angel Matias while Ice Asortse added 13. Gulf Coast is also still unblemished against MACJC competition in 2011-12.
For the third time in their last four outings, the Lady Bulldogs (9-8, 3-4) fell to an MACJC South Division foe in the game’s final seconds. Markia Nicks hit an open lay up with 15 seconds left in the contest to give Gulf Coast a 65-64 lead on East Central. However, East Central’s Jakela Johnson grabbed a rebound and hit a layup with 4 seconds left to give the Lady Warriors a 66-65 win. Ricille Davis led Gulf Coast with 17 points while both Tatyana Haywood and Yasmine Nelson each had 11.
Gulf Coast travels to Hinds Feb. 6 then returns home to face Jones Feb. 9 in Perkinston.
