Men’s team riding 13-game win streak
PERKINSTON---The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College men’s basketball team does not suffer from triskaidekaphobia, which is, fear of the number 13.Angel Matias had 22 points as the Bulldogs (17-2, 8-0) upended Hinds 75-69 to extend its winning streak to 13. Ice Asortse had 12 points while Jeremiah Dunnings added 11 in the victory. The win alsomakes it 17 straight against MACJC opponents in 2011-12.
The Lady Bulldogs (10-8, 4-4) snapped a two-game losing skid with a 61-53 decision over Hinds. Ricille Davis led Gulf Coast with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Yasmine Nelson chipped in 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Gulf Coast will host Jones Thursday, Feb. 9 with games at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
