Golf team dominates back-to-back MACJC tournaments

Drew Seals won back-to-back Medalist honors at Hinds & Co-Lin Mar. 3-6.
On March 3-4 on the Eagle Ridge course at Hinds, The Bulldogs won MACJC Event #2 by shooting 288-302 to win by 21 shots over second place Co-Lin. Gulf Coast golfer Drew Seals earned Low Medalist honors by shooting 71-73-144 (Even) while teammates Jared Smith and Marcus Fox finished second and third individually behind Seals.
At Co-Lin on Mar. 5-6, Gulf Coast won its third straight conference tournament with a 286-294-580 total at Wolf Hollow Golf Club and Brookhaven Country Club. The Bulldog Golf Team won by 17 strokes over Co-Lin 597, followed by Northwest 607, East MS 617, Jones JC 622, Northeast 643, East Central 652, Hinds 658, Itawamba 668, and Holmes 678.
Drew Seals shot 70-71-141 (-1) to capture Medalist honors for the second straight tournament, while Gulf Coast teammates Jared Smith 66-78-144 and Marcus Fox 78-68-146 joined Northwest's Cameron Thomas 146, Co-Lin's HunterHood 147 and East Central's Lee McDill 147 on the All-Tournament team.
Im really proud of the way the guys stepped up and played over four days against the best teams in the MACJC, said Gulf Coast golf coach Tommy Snell. In four rounds, Drew Seals was outstanding and helped set the pace for the rest of our team.
The Bulldogs have now won all three MACJC events in 2012 with two more remaining before the State & Region Tournaments in April. On Mar. 15-17 Gulf Coast travels to Scottsboro, AL for the annual Goosepond Spring Fling.
