Baseball splits with Jones

PERKINSTON---Michael Paul slapped two home runs and Tyler Bray threw a complete game shutout as Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College split a doubleheader with Jones Saturday.

In the game one 7-3 loss, Paul went 3-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI while J.C. Cassidy had two hits. Jarred Gates (6-2) suffered the loss.

The 7-0 nightcap win featured Tyler Bray (5-3) going the distance and allowing only two hits and a walk while striking out six. One of Paul’s two hits was his second homer of the day and sixth of the season while Dieter Hamilton also had two hits.

Gulf Coast (18-14, 6-8) travels to Poplarville Wednesday for an MACJC South Division doubleheader against Pearl River.
