Tennis team hangs tough at MACJC Tournament

TUPELO---After one day of action, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is among the top three teams in men’s and women’s play of the 2012 MACJC Tournament hosted by Itawamba.

In men’s action, Itawamba leads with 9 points, followed by Jones with 8, and Gulf Coast with 6. Co-Lin is in fourth with 5 points.

On the women’s side, Itawamba and Jones are tied for first with 9 points while Gulf Coast is third with 8.

On the day, the Bulldog team only dropped two out of 19 matches. The top three teams in men’s and women’s play advance to the Region 23 Tournament in Meridian Apr. 25-26.
