MGCCC teams earn All-Academic honors

The MACJC & Region 23 Champion MGCCC women’s soccer team is also one of four Bulldog athletic teams to earn 2011-12 NJCAA All-Academic Team honors.

Four Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College athletic teams that were highly successful on the field were also highly ranked for their work inside the classroom. Women’s soccer, golf, men’s tennis, and softball all made the NJCAA’S list of All-Academic teams for 2011-2012.

The Lady Bulldog soccer team won the MACJC and Region 23 titles in 2011 and scored a 3.16 team GPA. The Bulldog golf team had a 3.00 GPA and also won its fifth straight Region 23 title, it’s third straight MACJC crown, and finished a college-best fifth place at the NJCAA D-II Tournament. The Lady Bulldog softball team posted another winning season and notched a 3.20 GPA, while the men’s tennis squad made it to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time since 2004 and served up a 3.31 GPA.
