MGCCC soccer winds down the regular season

2012-10-11

For both Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College soccer teams, the regular season finale Saturday against Co-Lin will more than likely serve as their post-season since only one team has an outside chance to qualify for the MACJC State Tournament.

The Bulldogs (4-8-2, 3-4) are mired in a 5-game losing streak after dropping a 3-2 decision at Jones Oct. 5 and falling 2-1 at Southwest Oct. 8. Only a tie between Jones and Southwest this Friday would send the men’s squad to the playoffs.

The Lady Bulldogs (6-6, 3-4) fell 2-0 at Jones Oct. 5 but bounced back with a 4-0 win at Southwest Oct. 5. The women’s team will not go to the post-season.

The regular season finale with Co-Lin is set for Saturday, Oct. 13 with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
