MGCCC tennis team heads into home stretch of 2010 season

It was another solid week of work for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College tennis team in matches on the road against Hinds and Pearl River. On Mar. 30 the Bulldogs took on Hinds, the team believed to be the best in the state. The men fell 9-0 but the Lady Bulldogs almost pulled off the upset but lost 5-4. Victoria Hagel and Brittany Freeeman teamed up for a doubles victory while Hagel, Ruta Grindvalde, and Katy King earned singles victories.

On Apr. 1 both teams rebounded with wins over Pearl River. The men (5-4) got singles wins from by Kriss Baglais, Alex Drake and Tyler Eggers while Baglais/Drake and Taylor Thrash/Eggers teamed for doubles victories.

Gulf Coast has five more matches before the MACJC State Tournament Apr. 15-17 in Tupelo.
