MGCCC tennis team volleys past East Central

Ruta Grindvalde was involved in two victories against East Central Feb. 23.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College served up victories from both men's and women's tennis teams against East Central Feb. 23 at the Biloxi Tennis Center. The men (1-1) defeated East Central 5-4 as Kriss Baglais and Alex Drake won their doubles match over Danny Smith and Colton Amis 8-3 while Baglais, Alex Drake, Travis Ladner, Tyler Eggers, and Taylor Thrash all took home victories in singles matches.

The women's team (1-1) took care of East Central 7-2 with doubles wins coming from Ruta Grindvalde/Megan Terrel,Victoria Hagel/Brittany Freeman, and Katy King/Katherine Blain. In singles play Grindvalde, Hagel, Terrell and King were all winners against East Central. Gulf Coast travels to Hattiesburg Thursday to take on William Carey then returns home Friday to battle Holmes.
