MGCCC Lady Bulldogs drop close one at Southwest

67-63 loss ends shot at MACJC State Tournament
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College needed one more win Monday Night to qualify for next week’s MACJC State Tournament.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen as Southwest defeated the Lady Bulldogs 67-63 to end the team’s shot at their first trip to the state tournament since 2006.
Despite the loss, Gulf Coast (11-14) still has an outside chance at playing in the Region 23 Tournament March 2-5 in Clinton.
Four Lady Bulldogs scored in double figures against Southwest. Julicia Taylor led Gulf Coast with 16 points, Adrienne Mackay had 13, Savannah Palomarez had12 and Kaci Burkhalter added 11.
