MACJC All-Star Basketball Games Scheduled March 27

Fans of community and junior basketball will have an opportunity to watch some of the league’s top players in action when the annual Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star Basketball Games are held Friday, March 27, 2009, at the Choctaw Central High School gym.
East Central Community College in Decatur serves as host of the annual event, which begins with women’s action at 5 p.m. The men’s contest is set for 7 p.m. Admission is $6 per person.

Members of the South Division women’s squad include Mystee Dale and Rashima Jenkins, both of East Central; Rhonda Dumas, Yashundra Williams and Tierra Wilbert, all of Copiah-Lincoln; Jonneshia Phillips, Pearl River; Tiffany Williams, Hinds; Hope Swindle, Southwest; Demara Bolton and Teanna Carter, both of Jones County; and Savannah Palomarez and Julicia Taylor, both of Gulf Coast.
All-Stars on the North Division women’s team are Ebony Crayton and Courtney Cannon, both of Northeast; Ciera Thomas and Nominique Johnson, both of Northwest; Jessica Ayers, Mississippi Delta; Kim Anderson and Courtney O’ Briant, both of Holmes; Kottia White and Jasmine Abrams, both of East Mississippi; Sanqueeta Meridith and Jessica Collins, both of Itawamba; and Brittany Carr, Coahoma.
The South Division men’s All-Star team includes Josh Luckett, East Central; Otis Smith, Southwest; Donte Smith, Pearl River; Trent Hutchin and Rob Wallace, both of Copiah-Lincoln; Courtney Nelson and Marlon Ester, both of Hinds; Isaiah Jackson and Cordell Pope, both of Gulf Coast; and Brian Singleton and Corey Breland, both of Jones County.
Representing the North Division All-Star men’s squad are William Burdette, Northeast; Kevin Harris, Northwest; Terrance Washington, Mississippi Delta; Diamon Alexander and Al Graham, both of Holmes; Woodie Howard and Darion Donald, both of East Mississippi; Gary Dixon and Theron Jenkins, both of Itawamba; and Jejuan Jacks and Tensley Cowan, both of Coahoma.
In addition to ECCC, other sponsors of the All-Star games are the Pearl River Resort, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, Pepsi and Mississippi Sports Medicine.
