Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College sophomore Adrienne Mackay has signed a women’s basketball scholarship with the University of Mobile.
“I’m glad to be playing pretty close to home,” she said.
Mackay, a six-foot post player from Laurel, scored 8.6 points per game and pulled down five rebounds per contest for the Lady Bulldogs in 2008-09. She also led the team in field goal percentage during the season.
“Adrienne was part of my first recruiting class as head coach,” said Melanie Stone, lady Bulldogs head coach. “I’m very happy to see her playing at the next level.”
