Bio

LaTrice McDonald joins the Gulf Coast athletic department officially in 2026 after having long served an important role in a different department on campus, often helping the student-athletes. She’s the new Enrollment Specialist for Athletics after helping lead the athletics eligibility and compliance efforts in a similar role for Admissions.
 
She’s worked in that department since 2006, advising current and prospective students on enrollment and academic planning, as well as on the financial aid front. She has improved and implemented technology related to registration, graduation and records management.
 
McDonald started working at Gulf Coast in 2001 as an adjunct instructor at the Learning Resources Center. She provided instructional support and academic assistance to students, giving individual instruction to foster student success.
 
McDonald has been an active member on campus committees, often serving on hiring committees in the Athletic Department. She won the Difference Maker Award in 2018, presented to employees for demonstrating an exceptional work ethic, a deep sense of college and community involvement, and a tremendous commitment to students. She’s also won the In The Blue and In the Spotlight by Students awards, and participated in the MGCCC Excelerating Leadership Program.
 
McDonald is an MGCCC alumna who has a bachelor’s from William Carey and a master’s from Faulkner University. She has two children: Errol, a former Gulf Coast football player, and Yasmine, a recent Tulane University graduate.
