Former Gulf Coast utility man Alec Hardy returns to his alma mater to begin his coaching career in the 2026 season. He returns to his home county after finishing his playing career at Union University.

In 109 games over three seasons at the NCAA Division II school in Tennessee, Hardy batted .271 with four home runs and 55 RBI as an infielder. He was a starter in all but 10 games.

At Gulf Coast, Hardy’s best season came in 2022. He batted .245 with two home runs and 17 RBI. He played 17 games in the COVID-shortened 2021 season and 68 for his Bulldogs career.

A product of Stone High, Hardy was a two-way player for the Tomcats. He batted .250 as a senior while posting a 2-4 record on the mound, with 42 strikeouts and 19 walks.

Hardy has an associate of arts degree from Gulf Coast. While at Union, he earned a bachelor’s in exercise science and a graduate certificate in digital marketing.
