MGCCC Bulldogs earn 2012 post-season honors

Ten Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs have been honored for their success on the gridiron during a 2012 season which saw Gulf Coast win an MACJC South Division title and go to a sixth straight MACJC Championship Game.

   Bulldog wide receiver D'haquille Williams and kicker Stephen Brauchle were both All-Region 23 honorees as well as part of the 2012 All-MACJC South First Team.

   Williams, a freshman from Laplace, LA, caught 67 passes for 1,295 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2012, with his yards receiving and TD'S both ranked second in the NJCAA.

   Brauchle, a freshman from Gulfport, made eight out of 10 field goals and was 60 out of 68 in extra point attempts.

   Joining Williams and Brauchle on the All-MACJC South First team are quarterback Clint Hatten, offensive linemen Ramsey Sellers and Craig Frigo, defensive lineman Travis Taylor, and defensive back Nigel Green.

   Hatten, a sophomore from Wiggins, threw for 2,441 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions in 2012 and was 14-3 as the team's starting quarterback.

   Sellers and Frigo are part of an offensive line helped the Bulldogs average 272 yards per game rushing while only giving up three sacks.

   Taylor, a sophomore from Vancleave, had 4 and-a-half sacks in 2012 along with 45 tackles while Green, a freshman from Jackson, had 42 tackles and 2 interceptions. Steve Campbell was also recognized as the All-MACJC South team head coach.

   All MACJC South Second Team members from Gulf Coast are freshman kick returner Josh Keys, freshman offensive lineman Laurence Ramsey, and freshman wide receiver Tyrone Williams.
