Nance wins MACJC Player of the Week

Mississippi Gulf Coast wide receiver Jonathan Nance has been named MACJC Offensive Player of the Week for his 100-yard receiving game in the state semifinals.

Nance, a freshman from Gulfport, had five catches for 109 yards in Gulf Coast's 49-17 win over Itawamba. He grabbed a 47-yard touchdown pass during the team's 28-point explosion in the final 7:02 of the first half.

His other four catches all went for first downs.

This marks the third time this season Gulf Coast players have taken home Player of the Week honors. Freshman linebacker Reggio Dean won defensive honors in weeks 1 and 3

No. 6 Gulf Coast plays at No. 1 Northwest for the state championship Saturday. Fans can catch the MGCCC Fan Bus to watch this weekend's big game. Cost is $15, and the bus will depart from the Bell Tower on the Perkinston Campus at 7 a.m. Saturday.

The cost does not include a game ticket or meals, but there will be stops for lunch and dinner. Game tickets cost $5.
