Bio

Matt Hardy enters his fifth season at Mississippi Gulf Coast and his second as a fulltime assistant coach.

 

Hardy was a volunteer assistant for three seasons, becoming an exceptional recruiter and organizing force for the program. The Bulldogs are 71-32 during his time in Perkinston.

 

He’s helped coach 18 Bulldog players who went on to four-year schools. Five Gulf Coast players have been named All-Region and nine have made All-MACJC.

 

Hardy got into coaching after spending eight years as a network infrastructure supervisor in the U.S. Air Force. Hardy won numerous medals and an Air Force-wide award for excellence.

 

Hardy, who graduated from Gulf Coast in 2014, went on to get a bachelor’s from William Carey in physical education and health with a minor in secondary education. He is married to his wife, Jillian.
