Softball ranked 13th
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will start coach Eric Neel's first season ranked 13th in the NJCAA Division II Softball Rankings.
The Bulldogs, who finished 2019 ranked 12th, have been a consistent national power in softball. Their schedule, which will be officially announced next week, begins Feb. 7.
Gulf Coast is one of four MACJC teams in the initial rankings joining Jones (No. 4), Itawamba (No. 7) and East Central (No. 15). In addition to those schools on the conference schedule, the Bulldogs are expected to play two other top-20 teams: No. 1 LSU Eunice and No. 17 Lansing.
