Football plays 10-game regular season in 2026
PERKINSTON — The 2026 Mississippi Gulf Coast football schedule expands to 10 regular-season games for the first time since 2000.
The Bulldogs, who have won outright or shared the last seven MACCC South titles, will open the season on Aug. 27 when Coahoma visits A.L. May Memorial Stadium.
The schedule also features the earlier Homecoming in school history for the second straight year. Gulf Coast will open division play Sept. 19 against Copiah-Lincoln, with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
The full schedule can be found at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/sports/fball/2026-27/schedule.
The week before Homecoming, Gulf Coast hosts Itawamba. The other two home games will be played Oct. 8 against Southwest Mississippi and Oct. 22 against Hinds.
The Bulldogs travel to Northwest Mississippi on Sept. 3, Holmes on Sept. 24, Jones on Oct. 3, East Central on Oct. 15. The final game of the season will be Oct. 29 at archrival Pearl River.
Presidents at MACCC schools voted to expand the schedule earlier this year, giving each team a balanced five games at home and away. The conference championship will be determined in a meeting between the North and South champs on either Nov. 5 or 7.
