Gulf Coast leads at Hinds

A balanced team effort has Mississippi Gulf Coast back atop the leaderboard of an MACCC tournament, as the Bulldogs lead the Hinds Fall Invitational by four shots after shooting 8-over on Saturday.

Hayden Green (So, D'Iberville/Biloxi), Reeves Johnson (Fr, Germantown/Madison), Matt Wilkinson (Fr, Madison Central/Madison) and Chase Wilkinson (Fr, Madison Central/Madison) all shot 2-over 74s and are tied with three others four fourth in the individual standings.

Peyton Norwood (So, Jackson Academy/Madison) is another stroke back tied for 11t

Gulf Coast leads Meridian by four, Northeast Mississippi by six and host Hinds by 9 after 18 at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raymond.

The Bulldogs brought five individuals to the tournament, and Cade Wilkinson (Fr, Madison Central/Madison) is tied for 15th at 4-over. Dawson Cudd (So, Stone/Wiggins) is another shot back tied for 17th.

Meridian's Ethan Dyess leads the field by three after shooting 69.

The tournament concludes Sunday with the final 18 holes. It will be the final full event of the fall semester. The MACCC teams will compete in the tournament championship preview event later this month at Copiah-Lincoln.
