Foxworth wins MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Jeremiah Foxworth burst onto the conference scene in a big way at No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast's Homecoming on Saturday.
The league's sports information directors took notice, naming the freshman wide receiver from Columbia the MACCC Offensive Player of the Week.
He caught five passes for an eye-popping 173 yards in a dominant 63-0 win over Coahoma at A.L. May Memorial Stadium. Included in that total was a 93-yard touchdown pass.
Foxworth also returned a punt 15 yards.
He's the third Bulldog to earn Player of the Week honors this season, joining quarterback Landon Varnes and running back Trey Hall. Foxworth is now eligible for NJCAA weekly honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
