No. 19 Gulf Coast serves a zero to Holmes
PERKINSTON — No. 19 Mississippi Gulf Coast trounced shorthanded Holmes on Friday, winning 9-0 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs improved to 8-1 overall, 7-1 MACJC. Holmes brought just five players, which meant MGCCC started the match with two points.
Gulf Coast didn't drop a game in doubles, and only three games in the five singles matches.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday for their third match in as many days when Itawamba visits Perkinston. First serves are at 1 p.m.
There will be a ceremony at 11 a.m. for the presentation of the first Skyler Flowers Memorial Scholarship. Flowers was a former Gulf Coast player who died two years ago in a car accident.
