Gulf Coast falls at Poplarville

Shorthanded Mississippi Gulf Coast finished the game with three players and saw its three-game win streak against No. 19 Pearl River snapped Thursday. The Bulldogs lost 75-49.

Gulf Coast started with six healthy players and had three foul out.

Lamarah Cleaves (Fr., Tupelo/Tupelo) led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Katelyn Brinkley (Fr., Ridgeland/Ridgeland) had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Taelar Felton (Fr., Clinton/Clinton) finished with 10.

Gulf Coast trailed 18-10 after 10 minutes, but got the deficit down to one before trailing 39-22 at halftime.

The Bulldogs (10-8, 4-2 MACCC) are back home Monday to play Coahoma. Tipoff at Dantzler Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
