MGCCC men lose in final minute at ECCC

A costly Mississippi Gulf Coast turnover in the final minute of the game helped cost the Bulldogs in an 82-78 loss Thursday against East Central in Decatur.

Davion Cole-Johnson (6-4, 210, So., Pike/Glen Ellyn, Ill.) had 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, and Winston Morgan had 21 points and team-high nine boards.

Gulf Coast falls to 15-4, 7-3 in the MACJC South. The Bulldogs are in third place two games behind first place Jones County, and a game behind Southwest. They play both of those teams in Perkinston in the last two weeks of the season.

MGCCC plays three of its last four regular-season games at home, starting with Meridian on Monday. Tipoff at the Weathers/Wentzell Center is at 7:30 p.m.

East Central is 11-8, 6-4. The Warriors are in fourth in the South.
