Mississippi Gulf Coast saw an eight-point third-quarter lead over East Central disappear Friday, falling 60-50 in Decatur.
Alisha Tucker (Fr., McComb/McComb) led the Bulldogs with 11 points, and Kelsi Jackson (So., Moselle/South Jones) chipped in with nine. Shabria Cronan (Fr., D'Iberville/D'Iberville) had eight points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Bulldogs (1-6, 0-6 MACCC South) were up 42-34 with 2:37 to play in the third but only managed eight points the rest of the way.
The Bulldogs outrebounded the Warriors 34-31, but ECCC made 21-of-25 free throws after getting to the line nine more times than Gulf Coast. MGCCC had 31 turnovers.
East Central improved to 1-2 overall and in the South.
Gulf Coast returns to action Monday when it travels to Ellisville. Tipoff against No. 5 Jones is set for 6 p.m.
