Mississippi Gulf Coast went to overtime Tuesday, losing 2-1 at Meridian in the 95th minute.
Christian Inchima (Fr., St. Edmond Campion/Brampton Ontario) picked up his third goal in two games in the first half, but Meridian equalized on a counterattack in the 75th minute.
Neither team could break the tie in regulation, and the Eagles (2-2, 1-2 MACJC South) scored following a high, arcing free kick in overtime. Meridian knocked it on off a scramble, handing the Bulldogs (3-3, 2-2) their second OT loss of the season.
Gulf Coast returns to action Saturday with the start of back-to-back games on the road against North Division opponents. Kickoff against Itawamba is at 3 p.m. in Fulton, with a trip to Senatobia the next day.
