Redmond leads 4 Gulf Coast All-Region players
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast placed an MACJC-high four players on the United Soccer Coaches Men's Junior College Division I All-South Region teams, including freshman forward James Redmond, who was named to the first team.
Defender Luke Mills (So., Cedars Upper School/Leighton Buzzard, England), midfielder Cisco Thomas (So., Meadowvale Secondary/Mississauga, Ontario) and forward Christian Inchima (Fr., St. Edmond Campion/Brampton Ontario) were named to the second team.
Redmond, from Bremen, Germany, tied for the team lead with 11 goals and added five assists in his first season at Perk. He helped lead Gulf Coast back to the playoffs and an MACJC runner-up finish.
Mills had three assists from his role as a defender/defensive midfielder. Thomas had a team-high eight assists along with five goals, and Inchima tied Redmond with 11 goals and five assists.
Jones was the only other MACJC school with players on the 24-person list, with two.
