No. 3 MGCCC will open region against No. 15 LSU-E
PERKINSTON — No. 3 Mississippi Gulf Coast will play the tournament hosts in the first round of the NJCAA Region 23 Softball Tournament.
The Bulldogs will play No. 15 LSU Eunice at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the final day of the first round of the event. The teams met twice during regular season in Eunice, with each team getting a win.
No. 2 Itawamba plays No. 9 Copiah-Lincoln in the first game of the tournament at noon. No. 6 Jones gets unranked Northwest Mississippi in the middle game, set to start at 3 p.m.
Jones earned the top seed in the regional by winning the MACCC Tournament. LSU Eunice is automatically the second seed, with MACCC runners-up Itawamba the three-seed.
Co-Lin is the fourth seed, followed by Gulf Coast and Northwest.
