No. 12 Bulldogs host No. 16 NIACC

PERKINSTON — After Mother Nature put the brakes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast softball season, the Bulldogs will hit the diamond for the first time in 13 days on Friday.

It'll be the first time the Bulldogs take the field after leaping to No. 12 in the NJCAA poll, and they'll be taking on No. 16 North Iowa Area. The doubleheader starts at 2 p.m.

Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money. It costs $7 for adults or $5 for youth online, or $10 and $7 at the gate. Tickets are available at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets, and the game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.

This is the first of three consecutive days of doubleheaders for NIACC against MACCC opponents. The Trojans will be at Pearl River on Saturday and Jones on Sunday.

Last Time Out

  • Gulf Coast split a pair of games in the Coyote Classic on Feb. 15, beating Pensacola State 9-1 and losing 5-3 to Northwest-Shoals to finish 3-1 at the two-day event.
  • NIACC beat Mineral Area 34-7 and Neosho County 15-3 on Feb. 15, finishing 3-1 at the Branson JUCO Jam in Missouri.

  • Baleigh Tullos is tied for fourth in the country with three triples and seventh with 9 doubles. She's second in the MACCC in doubles and fourth in triples.
