Lindsey named MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Abby Lindsey lashed the ball around the park last week, earning MACCC Player of the Week honors.
The freshman from Decatur, Ala., batted .636 with two doubles during a 2-2 week for the Bulldogs. She had hits in all four games, including a three-hit performance in the second game at Holmes.
Lindsey is the third Gulf Coast player to earn weekly awards from the conference, joining Olivia Falcon and Karley Rouse, who were named Pitchers of the Week earlier this season.
She is eligible for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
