Lady Bulldogs drop OT decision at Delgado

Mississippi Gulf Coast fell to .500 on the season following a 61-57 overtime loss at Delgado in New Orleans on Wednesday.

 

The Lady Bulldogs (4-4) led 31-15 at halftime and 34-27 after three quarters before the Lady Dolphins (1-8) rallied to force the extra session.

 

Keiara Williams (6-1, Fr, New Orleans/Warren Easton) had 15 points to lead all scorers and also grabbed 12 rebounds. Kim Calhoun (5-11, So, Gulfport/West Harrison) had 11 points and six rebounds, and she hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime.

 

The Lady Bulldogs had 28 turnovers and shot 7-of-14 from the free throw line, while Delgado made 25 of 31 attempts.

 

Gulf Coast returns to action after the Christmas break when Delgado visits Perkinston on Jan. 7. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
