Brinkley named MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Katelyn Brinkley has Mississippi Gulf Coast off to a fast start in the MACCC women's basketball chase, and she's picked up her first MACCC Player of the Week award.
The honor, voted on by the conference's sports information directors, came after she filled up her stat line in a 2-0 week.
The sophomore center from Ridgeland averaged a double-double with 17.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. She had 14 points and nine rebounds in a 60-54 win at Meridian, followed by a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double in a 63-49 win over Jones. Brinkley also had four assists, six steals and four blocks during the week.
