Hall, Smith named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Riley Hall and Gabby Smith have been named Bulldogs of the Week for March 2-8.
Hall, a freshman right-hander from Mobile, Ala., threw a three-hitter to beat No. 22 Lansing 3-2. In his seven-inning complete game, he struck out 10. Hall is 3-0 this season.
Smith, a freshman right-hander from Perkinston, had an epic week in the circle for Gulf Coast, going 1-1 with a big asterisk. She beat Pensacola State 6-0 in the Panhandle by throwing a two-hitter, then took a tough-luck defeat, losing 1-0 at No. 12 Itawamba in 12 innings.

Taelar Felton, a sophomore point guard from Clinton, averaged 21 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals to lead Gulf Coast to the NJCAA Region 23 semifinals. She had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 79-56 win over Meridian in the quarterfinals. Felton had 22 points and five rebounds in a loss to Pearl River to close the regular season.
Garrett Gardner, a freshman second baseman from Madison, batted .364 with a home run during a 2-2 week for Gulf Coast.
Brennan McGlothan, a freshman from French Camp, didn't drop a game in winning all three of his matches. He won twice at No. 5 singles and once at No. 3 doubles to help Gulf Coast go 2-0.
Jayden Owensby, a freshman from Hernando, tied for second at the Chris Clark Invitational at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Philadelphia. He shot 3-over.
Baleigh Tullos, a sophomore outfielder from Hurley, batted .357 with a double and four RBI during a 1-3 week for the No. 22 Bulldogs.
Katelyn Walker, a freshman from Sumrall, won all four of her matches during a 2-0 week for Gulf Coast. She won twice at No. 5 singles, dropping only two games, and won twice at No. 3 doubles, losing only three.
