Brinkley, Hamilton named Bulldogs of the Week

PERKINSTON — Katelyn Brinkley and Za'Karieyea Hamilton have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Jan. 12-18. 

Brinkley, a sophomore center from Ridgeland, filled up her stat line in a 2-0 week for Gulf Coast, averaging a double-double with 17.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. She had 14 points and nine rebounds in a 60-54 win at Meridian, followed by a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double in a 63-49 win over Jones. Brinkley also had four assists, six steals and four blocks during the week.

Hamilton, a sophomore guard from Jackson, averaged a double-double during a 1-1 week for Gulf Coast. He had a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double in a 73-57 win at Meridian. In an 81-75 loss to No. 20 Jones, he had 11 points and seven rebounds.
