MGCCC women gear up for playoffs

Mississippi Gulf Coast has clinched the second seed in the MACJC South Division standings, but the Lady Bulldogs can win second outright Monday with a victory at Southwest.

Gulf Coast will open the MACJC playoffs on Thursday when Hinds visits the MGCCC Soccer Complex. Start time at Bary Thrash Field has not been set.

• MGCCC: 5-6-1/4-2-1, 2^nd place MACJC South
• Southwest: 1-11-1/0-6-1, 5^th place MACJC South

Last Time Out

• MGCCC lost 1-0 on an 87^th-minute penalty kick to Jones on Tuesday in Perkinston.

• Southwest tied Meridian 1-1 in Meridian on Friday for the Lady Bears' first point in the South this season.


Previous Meeting

Gulf Coast won 6-1 on Sept. 14 in Perkinston. Paris Payne (Fr., Southampton, England/Saints Foundation) had a hat trick for the Lady Bulldogs.
