Gulf Coast men face Jones on Wednesday

PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast lost its first MACJC match of the season over the weekend, and Bulldogs coach Gary Bourgeois wasn't happy about it.

He thought his team let a couple of matches slip through their fingers in a 6-3 defeat at Meridian.

The Bulldogs (2-1 MACJC) play their first home conference matches of the season Wednesday when Jones County visits the MGCCC Tennis Complex. Matches start at 2 p.m.

The Bobcats are 2-1 in the state after losing at Copiah-Lincoln on Saturday.

"They've got two internationals who can play," Bourgeois said. "They have good depth, so it will be a good challenge for us."

He wants his team to hit the reset button.

"We're coming off a bad loss at Meridian, so we've got to get ourselves together, regroup and put it out of our memory," Bourgeois said. "We have to be ready to compete because this is a crucial match for seeding for the state championships in April."
