MGCCC softball opener postponed
PERKINSTON — No. 8 Mississippi Gulf Coast will have to wait a little while longer to launch the 2022 softball season.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to open play Tuesday with a trip to Mobile to play Bishop State, but the Wildcats have health-and-safety issues. The game has been rescheduled for Feb. 24.
Gulf Coast will now play its first games next Friday and Saturday in the Island Invitational in Pasadena, Texas. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play four NJCAA Division I schools out there: Blinn, No. 17 McLennan, No. 8 San Jacinto-South and Alvin.
