No. 17 Bulldogs lose twice at Decatur

No. 17 Mississippi Gulf Coast lost a pair of MACCC softball doubleheaders Thursday at East Central.

The Bulldogs (16-17, 8-6 MACCC) got a seventh-inning homer from K.K. Agner (So., Horn Lake/Magnolia Heights) in the first game, but their comeback attempt fell short 5-4. They lost the second 9-0 in five innings in Decatur.

Emaleigh Coates had an RBI double in the first inning of the opener, and Abby Vance (So., Calhoun City/Calhoun City) had another in the fifth inning to get Gulf Coast within 3-2.

East Central (20-14, 9-7) scored twice in the sixth, which was enough.

Saturday will be Cancer Awareness Day at Gulf Coast's doubleheader against East Mississippi. First pitch in Perkinston is set for noon, with ceremonies recognizing survivors and remember those we've lost before the game.
