No. 5 Bulldogs face tough field in Alabama
PERKINSTON — No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast will be one of two MACCC schools playing in the Trojan Invitational starting Monday in Montgomery, Ala.
Unranked Northeast Mississippi is the other in the 15-team field at Lagoon Park Golf Club.
It's a strong field, including host Central Alabama Community College. The Trojans are ranked eighth in the Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches Poll, and they destroyed the field at the season-opening Derrall Foreman Invitational hosted by Delta State last month.
Eastern Florida, ranked fourth in Division I, is in the field, as is Huntingdon College, which is ranked third in NCAA Division III.
The teams will play 36 holes Monday and wrap up with 18 Tuesday.
