MGCCC baseball sophomores take it to the next level

Nine players that helped Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College baseball reach the post-season for the third straight year are moving on to four-year colleges and universities.

"We've now had 47 players end up at the next level since 2009," said Gulf Coast head baseball coach Gary Rath. Twenty-seven of them signed with NCAA Division I programs while three of them (Clint Dempster, Drew Granier, and Tyler Buckley) were drafted by Major League baseball teams."

Earlier this summer, former MGCCC Bulldog Trey Porter helped Mississippi State make it to the Championship Round of the 2013 NCAA College World Series and former Bulldog Tyler Buckley was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies.
