Baseball splits on the road at Jeff Davis
BREWTON, AL---Mississippi Gulf Coast used a 14-hit attack for a game one win and eventual doubleheader split Saturday at Jeff Davis. The Bulldogs (2-2) won the opener 10-6 but dropped the nightcap 5-3. In game one Gulf Coast used a three-run seventh inning to secure the victory. Richie Clark had three hoits including a double and two RBI while Tyler Quave had two doubles. James Land had a double and 2 RBI while Jacob Swiney also chipped in two hits. Bulldog pitchers Kolby Ross, Kyle Cumlander, and Winston Wilson all combined for the win, with Cumlander (1-0) earning the decision.
In game two, Clark had two more hits while Taylor Olsen (0-1) absorbed the loss despite giving up no earned runs and striking out four.
Gulf Coast hits the road again Tuesday for another early season dubleheader at Baton Rouge.
