Land earns NJCAA All-American, All-MACJC, & Region 23 honors
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College's James Land has slugged his way to a bevy of post-season awards. This week he earned NJCAA 2014 D-II Second Team All-American Honors to go along with his 2014 All-Region 23 and All-MACJC recognition. Land, a 5-11, 215 pound freshman from Harrison Central, batted .422 for Gulf Coast and led the team in most offensive categories with 57 hits, 10 homeruns, 10 doubles, a triple, and 44 RBI. His batting average is among the NJCAA'S top 25 while he's in the top 15 in home runs.
