Land's walk-off ends wild 17-16 victory
PERKINSTON---Thirty-three runs scored, 39 hits, 7 errors, and 14 pitchers used.
And those aren't even the highlights from Tuesday's 17-16, 11 inning win by Gulf Coast over Jeff Davis.
James Land went 4-for-6 including a walk-off homerun to give the Bulldogs (4-3) the win over the visiting Warhawks. Land also drove in 5 RBI while Tyler Quave and Richie Clark each had three hits, Patrick McMahon had two hits including a grand slam, and Travis Fortin had two hits in the offensive showcase.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead behind McMahon's grand slam and four errors committed by Jeff Davis. The Warhawks came back to score 6 runs in the seventh, two in the eighth, and four in the ninth to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
Kyle Cumlander started the game for Gulf Coast and struck out four in three innings while Koby Ross (2-0) got the win.
The Bulldogs travel to face Alabama Southern on Saturday.
