MGCCC’s Lee again wins MACJC award
Mississippi Gulf Coast sophomore pitcher Kaitlin Lee has been named MACJC Pitcher of the Week for the second time already this season.
The right-hander from Harrison Central capped a 3-0 week with a perfect game against Southern Union on Saturday. She struck out the first six batters she faced on the way to 11 total in the game at the Sun Chief Classic.
No. 6 Gulf Coast, the defending MACJC and Region 23 champions, has won its first 14 games of the season.
Lee, an Ole Miss signee, struck out 10 batters total in three-hitters against Alabama Southern and Jefferson Davis, allowing only two runs in 19 innings on the week.
She has already won NJCAA Pitcher of the Week this season, too. She is second in the country with seven wins and fourth with a 0.72 ERA.
